Ancient Eleusis

The general ground plan of Eleusis is based on other diagrams.
However, some important changes have been made.






The great Eleusinian relief (450 BC),
National Archaelogical Museum of Athens.

Demeter (left), Kore and Triptolemos (center).
Height: 2.20 m  (3φ MC).
Width: 1.558 m  (3φ\/2 MC).
Ratio: \/2.

It was found in the small church of St. Zacharias,
where there was a temple of Triptolemos (Paus. A' 38.5).
